The series finale takes Shane to Gozo, Malta’s lush agricultural heartland. Known as Malta’s “food bowl,” Gozo demonstrates how the island’s early settlers relied on the land and sea; a philosophy still alive in modern cuisine.
Shane prepares cured tuna with Maltese sweet and sour sauce and a Gozitan farmers salad with fresh cheese, pomegranate, and cucumber. He also visits Ġgantija, neolithic temples older than the pyramids, reflecting on how Malta’s earliest communities shaped the way locals eat, harvest, and celebrate food today.
